Welcome! My name is Pragma Mamma and this is my therapy: a kind of catharsis; my alter-ego so to speak. Here, I will discuss, vent, analyze, raise awareness and hopefully inspire. This blog will share news and views on relevant and important issues for busy families and parents on the go.
Why the name Pragma Mamma you ask? Because I am not afraid to admit that I am a practical, forthright and hardworking mom. Full stop.
prag·mat·ic
adjective
- dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations.
I don’t think being pragmatic is necessarily a bad thing. Someone once called me pragmatic in a heated argument and, at first, I took it as an insult. But upon further reflection, I realized that being practical, resourceful and realistic weren’t necessarily negative traits to have. I may have my feet firmly planted on the ground, but that doesn’t mean my head isn’t in the clouds.
A former teacher, recruiter and world traveler, I know a thing or two about education, diversity, organization and time management. My passions include cooking simple, healthy meals for my family, keeping up on the latest trends in education and navigating this thing we call ‘parenting’. This blog will feature tried and tested recipes, family-friendly product reviews and hot parenting topics, many of which, are inspired by the fabulous friends and families around me. My goal is to feature original and personal photography, moments captured by myself and other aspiring photographers I know and love.
I recently left my busy Bay Street job in Toronto to go back to pursuing my number one passion: education. I am currently working as a part-time tutor/mentor and aspiring blogger and I’m a full-time wife and mother of two fabulous daughters.
At the end of the day, I am just an average Jill trying to survive this crazy journey called life. Join me as I pursue my PhD in parenting and all of the chaos that comes with it!
My name is Jill Campbell, and I am Pragma Mamma.

Hi Pragma Mama and congrats on your blog launch 🙂 I recently celebrated my 1 year anniversary for launching my blog in December of 2014. When I look back on my first year, it was a time of finding my voice, meeting other inspiring writers/bloggers, and making a connection with who may need help from what I have to offer. I wish you much success and growth through 2016 and I look forward to reading your posts!
